The Trainer’s Failure

After the humiliation of Fergus, all of the Pokémon trainers in the vast hall stand ready for battle. Fergus, full of shame and rage, sends his huge Gyarados to battle Mewtwo, but the super-psychic Pokémon makes short work of the monstrous water dragon. Mewtwo then releases his human servant from under his control, and the woman turns out to be Nurse Joy! Mewtwo had kidnapped her and kept her under his control for weeks.
